Where passion and colour collide in a lot of fun

For Hot Rod fans, the last weekend in May holds a very special place and the joys of a custom paint finish are all part of the awe and passion for the specialised restorations.

So PPG is expecting another busy weekend when it sets up at 2024 Sydney Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo on 25th – 26th May.

PPG CT Manager NSW, Sam Minter says hundreds of spectacular vehicles on display are the drawcard but many showgoers will also be making it a priority to visit the onsite PPG stand.

“Going on past experience, the PPG stand is going to be incredibly busy throughout the weekend,” he says.

“Last year we had a huge cross section of people who dropped in – everything from young kids and custom car novices, through to people building their own project at home, professional builders and even PPG collision repair customers.”

Held at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse from 9am – 5pm over the two days, the Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo is the largest of its kind in NSW, featuring elite level hot rods and street machines, custom motorcycles, show and shine, trade alley and entertainment for all ages.

It’s the perfect place to check out a vast cross section of custom paint jobs and then quiz a PPG expert on the finer points of achieving an epic finish, says Minter.

“No matter what level they are at, people are keen to take advantage of the knowledge on offer from the onsite PPG team and being able to talk with an expert face-to-face. It means they can ask questions and get an instant response.

“It’s also great for our team, who get a real buzz out of helping people better understand the paint process and why certain products are used at certain times.

“This year we are again excited to have custom car building legend, Howard Astill, from Astill Design, on the stand to pass on his incredible knowledge and experience. If that is not enough, visitors can also check out the colour display of PPG’s VIBRANCE COLLECTION® range of custom paint finishes, along with regular demonstrations of the latest MIRKA abrasive and polishing technologies. You can even take advantage of special pricing on selected merchandise to walk away with a bargain.”

From mild and intense to totally wild, PPG’s Vibrance Collection offers unprecedented creative possibilities for the inner artist in the Hot Rod enthusiast. For more information go to www.vibrancenetwork.com.au.
