Ian Christensen

Ian Christensen

Ian was appointed Managing Director of iMOVE Australia since it commenced operations in July 2017. In his previous role as CEO of Excellerate Australia, he led the successful bid for iMOVE CRC, as well as overseeing the activities of the Automotive CRC and Automotive Supply Chain Excellence (ASEA) team.

Following four years as General Manager of Excellerate Australia, Ian was appointed CEO in 2014, and prior to joining Excellerate Australia, he managed the operations of another CRC for four years. Ian has more than 30 years’ experience in the manufacturing sector, ranging from automotive, paper, polymers, silicone products and fine chemicals. His considerable experience at the interface between industry and research enables him to manage the many stakeholders involved in the transport and mobility space and draw them into the collaborative processes required to address complex problems and capture opportunities. Ian has a science degree and an MBA, and in addition to working in manufacturing has also had several roles developing and commercialising new technologies. He is the inventor on two patents and has extensive experience in licensing of intellectual property.

Giles Wallis

Giles Wallis

Giles joined Bosch Australia in 2003 as a Key Account Manager, and later became the General Manager of OE sales. In 2012 he moved to the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket division holding the position of Regional Sales Manager and more recently, Product Marketing Manager.

Dealing with Key Accounts and developing strategies for Customer Product Acquisition Projects have been a key focus. Prior to moving to Australia, Giles worked for Bosch in South Africa supporting new product development and as a Sales Engineer, specialised in sales to Japanese OEM’s. Early in his career Giles worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the aircraft industry, and then moved to a start-up joint venture between Toyota and Hella. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
