Backing up the launch of its RAM 1500, 2500 and 3500 Pick-Up Trucks onto the local market, RAM Trucks Australia is aiming to offer the very best service to its customers. As a result, the company recently contacted PPG to request a specialised course, focused on vehicle paintwork, for RAM Trucks personnel from around the country.
The team at PPG’s state-of-the-art NSW Training Centre, at Eastern Creek, Sydney, was only too willing to help by organising a full day of in-depth training. During the course, RAM Truck staff were given an overview of current paint technologies, before being guided through the best methods for preparing the vehicle’s paintwork prior to customer delivery.
A key part of this was giving these pre-delivery personnel the skills to not only identify paint issues, but to then effectively rectify them. This included everyone getting ‘hands-on’ by doing some defect removal and polishing, utilising the speed and efficiency of MIRKA’s Polarshine range. These MIRKA products form the basis of Paint Rectification Process Charts which were developed by the PPG team to suit the local market, as well as a whole range of paint systems. It includes easy to follow, step-by-step instructions with demonstration photos and a list of recommended products.
