Plastfix appoints Steve Hardy as Managing Director

NCR Plastfix Steve Hardy

Plastfix, the leading automotive plastic repair service and supplier of specialty tools and training in Australia and New Zealand, has appointed Steve Hardy as their Managing Director. He will be taking over the reins from founder Mario Dimovski, who will move to the USA to focus on the group’s North American operation.

Steve Hardy, brings over 40 years automotive experience, 33 years in management including 15 years in automotive plastics repairs. He has managed high profile auto plastic repair companies such as Fallshaw Body Supplies and Everlast Automotive, driving innovation in the automotive plastics repair industry in Australia in the 1990’s. Steve spent much of his later career managing high impact collision shops across the Australian market.

His new position at Plastfix will focus on working exclusively with Plastfix’s key clients, including leading Australian MSOs, the AMA Group and Capital Smart, managing growth and expansion of services, in addition to working with local OEM’s and maintaining the great culture Plastfix has developed, boasting a staff retention rate of over 90%.

Hardy said: “Plastfix is at the cutting edge of innovation in automotive plastics repairs and what CEO, Mario Dimovski has achieved to date in the Australian market is truly remarkable. Plastfix provides our clients with a win/win situation, as we focus on restoring plastic parts, fill the skills gap and allow the body technicians to focus on repairing vehicles, reducing repair costs, helping control insurance premiums and reducing waste to landfill. All this whilst maintaining consumer safety by following OEM repair guidelines.”

“This is a progressive company to be a part of and I, in conjunction with our talented team, look forward to building our products and services well into the future. It will be a real challenge, although I have had the time to work with the management team, technicians and our clients, and I have no reservation this company is set on a trajectory to deliver even greater achievements,” concluded Hardy.

Hardy steps in during a busy post-COVID-19 period for Plastfix, with a recruitment drive well under way, offering positions across all states for people interested in a career in the plastic restoration industry.
