When Umina Surf Life Saving Club needed to renovate their surf boats, Craig Wilding, Sales Manager of Pinnacle Paint Supplies, jumped on board to support this much-loved community organisation. With a sponsorship deal, as well as painting the newly renovated boats, Pinnacle Paint Supplies have given the club’s rowing teams a renewed competitive edge.
Pinnacle Paint Supplies, located at Gladesville in Sydney’s inner west, is an active distributor of Axalta Coatings Systems, providing coatings and consumables to refinishers within the vehicle repair, industrial, and marine sectors. Both companies understand the importance of supporting local communities, resulting in Pinnacle Paint Supplies sponsoring the Umina Surf Life Saving Club.
The Umina Surf Life Saving Club’s members patrol Umina beach, a major tourist destination on the New South Wales Central Coast, one hour north of Sydney. The importance of the club’s role continues to escalate; with over 150,000 visitors each year and growing, their services are needed more than ever before.
To meet the growing demand for the club’s services, it takes a team of volunteers to continuously update their skills, getting the best training and equipment to do their job right. This takes time and money, which is why Pinnacle Paint Supplies took this opportunity to support Umina Surf Life Saving Club, not only helping to renovate their surf boats, but also sponsoring the Umina Men’s and Women’s Surfboat Teams to compete at branch, state and national championships.
To improve each boat’s competitive edge, Pinnacle Paint Supplies used scientifically engineered products from Axalta. These products are designed to deliver the best appearance, performance and corrosion protection for the boats, whilst helping to combat the brutal pounding of the waves without compromising the boat’s streamlined performance. Coatings were selected to help with the boats’ durability, weight and abrasion resistance whilst providing the right gloss and mirror-like finish that lasts longer, further extending the life of the boats’ finish.
In appreciation of the generous contribution, Pinnacle Paint Supplies and Axalta logos now adorn the paddles of each rower from the Umina SLSC, which will be proudly displayed at all the surf carnivals. “Pinnacle Paint Supplies is proud to support such a worthy organisation,” said Wilding. “Helping the club through sponsorships whilst protecting their boats and oars has enabled the volunteers to do what they do best – save lives!”
