Description
I purchased this 2001 RAV 3 door Edge Automatic last year from another old bloke, who after clocking-up just 60k kM in its first 21 years on the road, decided that he shouldn't drive any longer, and so covered the RAV with a poly-tarp and locked it away in his garage.
Upon my purchase, and before blue-slipping it for Rego., I thoroughly cleaned it, polished it (several times) to reveal that there's none of the typical clearcote issues, then had my mechanic drain and replace ALl the fluids, change ALL the filters, service the transmission and transfer case, and replace/ re-program the ECU to avoid those problems it can cause with the transmission solenoids.
Then I had my auto electrician fit LED headlights and auxiliary reversing lights that are better suited to extra-urban (rural) use, and fit extension battery terminals so as to more easily charge it when necessary in cold climates.
All this was in preparation for our long planned tree-change later this year, but after a few 1000kM drives to our property in the RAV, it's become obvious that it's not the ideal vehicle for extra-urban use.
So IF someone who mostly drives in urban areas is willing and able to pay the $12k that this 2001 RAV4 owes me, and that's now travelled just 66,882kM with 5 months Rego., then please make contact.
Sorry, but as I'm not interested in offers, please don't ask, because if the RAV doesn't go to a new home by the time we're ready to move, then I'll tolerate its less than ideal open road manners (and maybe find it a couple of extra gears ).
