The Jaguar E-Type stands alone as probably the only volume production sports car ever to be modelled directly from a thoroughbred race car. Following the success of the C-Type/D-Type racers, Malcolm Sayer was able to bring his expertise as an Aerodynamicist to the broader public with the iconic E-Type. These cars amazed when released with well publicised 150 mph performance claims.

Following the success of the original 3.8L variants, the 4.2L was introduced and provides the same level of power and top speed, with the added bonus of almost 18% more torque, allowing for a far superior driving experience. Additional improvements included an all synchomesh gearbox, diaphragm clutch, alternator, improved cooling, better brakes and new reclining seats.

This Series I OTS (Open Two Seater) was dispatched from the Coventry factory in left hand drive specification and is understood to have arrived in Australia in the late 90s. Fully restored in the early 2000s, with great attention to detail, correct features and excellent panel gaps, the roadster presents in the stunning factory colour of Opalescent Gunmetal with with a Dark Blue quality cloth soft top and half tonneau, sparkling brightwork and chrome wire wheels. The Dark Blue leather interior includes a Pioneer CD Tuner with stacker in the boot along with a complete tool roll and jack.

This beautifully presented Series I roadster is superb to drive, with ample performance, supple comfort and carries the spectacular design of these iconic cars which retained the preferred early body styling with enclosed headlights.
