Description
1965 Shelby GT350-R Recreation. (1965 Mustang Fastback). Presented in the original Wimbledon White/Guardsman Blue paint, this example showcases period correct Shelby accompaniments throughout. Initially a standard 289w powerplant, now upgraded with a 351w from a 69-70 generation Mustang, matted to the strong, much sought after 4-speed Toploader with tastefully applied Hurst shifter, this vehicle is extensively fitted with a range of period correct (1965-66 GT350/GT350-R type) year/model Shelby parts appointed throughout
Featuring featuring the lightweight Shelby induction hood (functional) accompanied by the added quick release hood pins, lightweight boot lid, original Fastback side air vents swapped out for the Shelby lightweight rear windows, functional Shelby brake cooling ducts fitted left/right, period correct American Racing Magnesium Torque Thrust Wheels with the vintage Brigestone rubber hitting the road, Shelby GT350-R front lip (correct for 65 R-type model only), 1965 GT350 Shelby rear seat-delete, Shelby Roll Bar, the usual wooden Shelby steering wheel and Shelby Tachometer, etc., fitted with the better 1969 seats. Fitted with new bushes/mounts giving peace of mind in what is an amazing example of a vehicle thats either able to be simply driven as is, or purchased cheaper than other similar examples with further funding going towards something that could genuinely be the best Targa Tasmanian contender or weekend warrior.
Please note that I initially purchased this vehicle as is from an established and well known luxury car dealership back in 2019 with a view of gifting it to my late father. Sadly he passed days prior to its arrival, and so this has primarily sat; albeit with regular weekly starts, and the odd squirt down the block, before being stored in the family garage. With that said, the original shocks (specifically the right hand side) have deteriorated and will need updating/replacing; of which can be done relatively cheaply (around $100-150 for parts) however the vehicle represents primarily similar to that of when it was initially purchased. Despite these specific vehicles climbing in value significantly in the last decade or so, Ill be happy to simply recoup the money I spent on it back in 2019, so happy to negotiate with the right buyer. Viewing will require prior notice as its stored at a relatives property, however happy to make it work at your convenience. As much as Id genuinely love to keep hershe simply deserves better, and needs to be driven. Price: $99,999 neg. Contact James on 0410 503 813 anytime with a view of arranging a viewing.
