PRE-RELEASED BULLITT TO FACTORY SPECIFICATION
Rolling off the San Jose production line on the 30th November 1967, this Fastback 390 GT was delivered new by Tom Sherlock Ford in South Pasadena, California. Originally finished in Highland Green with a Black vinyl interior, equipped with the 'S' code 390-4V FE V8 and 4 speed manual transmission, the exact combination that would be chosen for Steve McQueens Mustang, in the October 1968 released movie BULLITT.
Whilst in the hands of the 3rd owner, having been previously stored for about 15 years partially dismantled, the Mustang underwent a full bare metal restoration, at which time the decision was made to repaint the Ford in Performance Red (2000 Mustang) with White racing stripes, while at the same time both a Shelby style louvred bonnet & rear deck lid were installed.
In late 2005 the engine was bored and uprated with 9.5:1 pistons, balanced and blue- printed rotating assembly, a Comp Cams 0.550 lift 284 degree camshaft, Holley 750 Double Pumper carburettor on an Edelbrock Dual Plane Manifold, Hooker ceramic coated headers and MSD Series 6 electronic ignition.
Following its arrival in Australia the S-Code was treated to an interior update, with a pair of Procar Black vinyl bucket seats, a saddle cruiser console and a dished Wood rimmed steering wheel.
Starting in 2010, the Fastback underwent a series of comprehensive upgrades, focused on suspension, braking and steering, including: front and rear power assisted disc brakes, Total Control Products coil over front end with rack and pinion power steering and TCP G-Link coil-over rear suspension, with the Mustang granted its VASS Approval Certificate for these Modifications on the 9th of January 2012.
