#20 - FACTORY BUILT TURN KEY WITH AIRCON

With accolades including four consecutive Le Mans 24 hour victories (1966-1969) the original Ford GT40 is arguably one of the most significant and iconic sportscars ever built, as such they have long been idolised and desired, however with a median sale price of near $10,000,000 AUD, originals are out of reach, leading to a demand for high quality replicas.

Factory built as a turn key this Roaring Forties GT40, chassis #20 was ordered on the 13th of October 1999, with an expected completion date of May-July 2000, by Terry Daly, a true (Ford) motoring enthusiast, Mr. Daly competed at Bathurst from 1976 to 1981 in both Ford Escorts and Ford Capris, with his best outright result being 13th in 1978 and his best class result being 2nd in 1979.

Mechanically the GT40 sports an alloy headed 302ci Windsor fed by individual throttle body fuel injection, mated to an Audi 5 speed transaxle (with correct right hand shift). Weighing in at approximately 1,200kg the GT40 is equipped with coilover suspension and large, vented disc brakes front and rear, providing superb stability.

With just 01,350km on the odometer, this Roaring Forty is begging to be used, with the most recent works including: fitment of a new custom radiator, cooling system flush and a service in 2020 as well as reconditioning of the steering rack, brake & clutch master cylinders and new tyres front and rear in 2022.

The GT40 is supported by a large file of documentation and invoices, including correspondence of Mr Dalys initial order and a 2001 edition of the Roaring Forties GT40 Construction Manual which includes many reference photos taken during the build of #20, gifted by Roaring Forties to celebrate the GTs 1st birthday.
