1973 FORD CORTINA TC

Now for sale from our Sydney Showroom, a rare 1973 TC Cortina XL in Yellow Fire with Black trim. Running the matching numbers 3.3L 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed Top Loader manual gearbox and showing 96,677 miles on the clock. 

Remember when Ford Cortinas were literally everywhere. Nowadays you'll rarely see one on the road. A great concept from Ford Australia. To shoe horn the Falcon's mighty six cylinder engine into what is a small four door family sedan. Six-cylinder Cortinas came in three levels of trim (L, XL and luxurious XLE spec) with 3.3-litre engines for base models and 4.1 litres further up the pricing structure. Most TC Cortinas were sold with an automatic transmission. This XL Cortina is fitted from factory with the optional four-speed manual gearbox.

Ford offered buyers a huge colour palate and trim selection and buyers were provided with a huge option list to personalise their Cortina including power steering, Air conditioning, sunroof, cloth inserts, GS Rallyee Pack and the list goes on.  

For sale is an excellent unmodified XL Cortina in factory Yellow Fire paint and Black vinyl trim. Running the matching number 3.3L 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed manual transmission, the Cortina has had a full repaint in 2 pack Yellow Fire five years ago while the Black vinyl interior is in excellent original condition with the only modifications being the addition of a sports steering wheel and after market tachometer and stereo. The Cortina is showing 96,677 miles and is believed to be genuine original mileage. 

Mechanically the car has been lovingly maintained and runs and drives superbly. Five years ago the engine was rebuilt and runs a mild cam, Holley 2BBL carby, extractors with a Redback cat back exhaust system. The Cortina has been dynoed with 300HP at the engine. Pedders shocks and springs have been added and the Cortina features the original Borg Warner diff and original tail shaft.  

The Cortina is riding on it's 15" Minilite alloy rims with 205/50R15 tyres all round with steel spare, tools and boot carpet. 

This is a great survivor TC Cortina that has not been mini tubbed or fitted with a big V8 engine. Ready to enjoy. A rare offering in a super desirable colour combo.
