Ford Cortina Mk II GT Tribute Classic Investment
Recently rebuilt, this Mk II GT Tribute has been fitted with a 1600 Crossflow engine, Weber carburettor, extractor exhaust, and a 5-speed gearbox for smooth, reliable driving.
We list this as a tribute as we cannot confirm with certainty that it is an original GT. Nonetheless, it has been in the same family for over 20 years, enjoyed regular use, and carried full registration up until this year. It is now on historic plates, ready to be enjoyed immediately.

A Bit of Cortina History
The Mk II Cortina, designed by Roy Haynes and launched in October 1966, built on the success of the original Cortina. Although slightly shorter, it was wider, offering more cabin space and refinements such as a softer suspension, a smaller turning circle, and self-adjusting brakes and clutch.
By 1967, the Cortina had become Britains best-selling new car, ending BMCs long dominance. It was praised for its modern styling, performance, and value.
The 1600GT, introduced in 1967, became a standout. With sportier suspension, the high-tune Kent GT engine, and upgraded interior trim (bucket seats, padded dash, full instrumentation, and sports steering wheel), it was the first Cortina widely recognised as a classic in its own right.
