MTA NSW Group CEO Stavros Yallouridis says the relaunch gives the Australian Capital Territory’s automotive sector greater visibility, influence and practical support during a time of industry change.

“The ACT’s automotive industry supports thousands of local jobs and contributes significantly to the territory’s economy,“ he said.

“Bringing MTA ACT into the MTA NSW Group is about ensuring the ACT’s automotive businesses have access to the same level of service, advocacy and training enjoyed by operators across NSW, as the sector navigates the transition to electric vehicles, workforce challenges, and technology-driven change,” Yallouridis says.

He says the refreshed MTA ACT will focus on the critical issues facing the sector, including skills shortages, the transition to electric vehicles, and small business sustainability, while ensuring the ACT has a seat at the table in national conversations shaping the future of mobility.

“We’re focused on listening to and delivering for ACT businesses,” Yallouridis says. “With the right training, infrastructure and support, the territory’s automotive industry is well-positioned to lead innovation in EV servicing, advanced diagnostics, and workforce development.”
