BASF appoints The SAPE Group as sole distributor in Newcastle

BASF Australia continues its pursuit to provide customers with industry leading service and easy access to its high quality portfolio with the announcement that The SAPE Group has officially been appointed as the sole distributor of BASF products in the Newcastle region of New South Wales.

“SAPE runs a very sophisticated business model and their appointment into this region to distribute BASF products is a natural progression for our business partnership,” said Mark Spiteri, National Sales Manager, BASF Australia. “BASF and SAPE have enjoyed a long-standing partnership and will continue to do so into the future through our joint commitment to ensure our customers receive the highest service level for their refinish requirements.”

Warren McMartin, Managing Director of The SAPE Group, and his dedicated team are already established in the area with their purpose-built state-of-the-art facility in Cameron Park, which was completed in August 2019 and is fitted with offices, boardroom, video conferencing, warehouse and a shop. “This is the plan for the modern smaller distributor to have a shop and a warehouse where customers can walk around and pick up what they want,” said McMartin.

The automotive repair industry in the Newcastle region can expect high service levels in the area from SAPE through their local team consisting of a branch manager, technical representative, sales representative and three delivery drivers. In addition, a dedicated business development manager will be in the area once a fortnight, along with Tony Maher, national sales manager who will also visit the area regularly.

The SAPE team will work with and be supported by BASF through Tony Mandato, business development manager, NSW and local technical sales representative David Minto and all customers will continue to have access to all BASF products and services.

“Like everything SAPE does, we do well. The support in the region will be further improve in the long term,” added McMartin. “Any customer that is a customer of SAPE gets more access to all the items we sell, we go over and above to look after our customers.”
