Axalta provides hands-on experience to TAFE NSW students using the latest paint technology and repair equipment.
Axalta recently hosted the first round of 2020 Automotive Refinishing Technology TAFE NSW Campbelltown students at its new state-of-the-art training centre in Marsden Park, NSW.
Through their participation in this training, the students gained invaluable hands-on experience using the latest paint technology and repair equipment. In addition, they had access to technical trainers who instructed them on the latest application techniques, evolving digital technologies, and repair processes.
“As an automotive OEM partner, Axalta is well-placed to share the latest requirements and developments for a wide range of vehicle makers,” said Paul Polverino, Axalta’s National Training Manager. “At our Marsden Park training centre, we provide the materials, the venue and a trainer to work alongside the TAFE NSW trainer with a goal of teaching and furthering the skills of these talented students on the latest technologies in auto repair and refinish. These students represent the next generation of our business and the future success of our industry. Understanding the opportunities now will set them up for rewarding and long-standing careers in automotive repair and refinish.”
“By partnering with Axalta, our students receive hands-on training using modern technology and repair techniques and can see how all of that turns into a well-paying job,” said Carl Tinsley, Autobody Repair and Surface Coatings teacher at TAFE NSW, Campbelltown. “Each student will work towards completing their Certificate III Vehicle Painting Apprenticeship, which will allow them to enter the industry with the hands-on skills to forge a successful career.”
Axalta is committed to supporting apprentices who seek a career in auto repair and refinishing and have many more sessions planned for new and continuing TAFE NSW students in 2020.
