Axalta Coating Systems is gearing up to support the latest cohort of young apprentices at the WorldSkills National Championships in Brisbane in June 2025.
The World Skills competition plays an important role in fostering excellence in a wide range of trades skills including spy painting and panel beating, highlighting role models of commitment and skill for the wider industry .
Axalta is celebrating an 18-year partnership between WorldSkills Australia, Axalta is principal Category Partner for Automotive Refinishing and a long-term supporter of WorldSkills Australia that spans back to 2007.
Prime Creative Media the publisher of National Collision Repairer has also signed up as a media partner to WorldSkills Australia.
Boosting competitors
Axalta has been fully focused on supporting each competitor in their preparation, whether it is in colour matching to mastering matt clears, each interaction with competitors has been designed to help them reach their potential and foster their skills development.
“Our passion for the industry, and our desire to support the next generation of talent, is what drives us at Axalta,” National Training Manager Paul Polverino says.
“Through this partnership, we aim to inspire young professionals to build rewarding careers by providing access to cutting-edge technology, industry expertise, and hands-on experience.”
Axalta’s trainers are hosting skill development sessions at their facilities nationwide for the participating apprentices in preparation for the National Championships in June. These hands-on workshops cover touch-up repairs, panel preparation, design making, colour matching, plastic repair, masking, and buffing/polishing.
Big Date in June
As the countdown to Brisbane begins, Axalta eagerly anticipates witnessing the talent, creativity, and dedication that competitors will bring to the Automotive Refinishing category.
