‘Apprenticeships are just the beginning’; ongoing training toward excellence

An accident repair centre in eastern Melbourne is the latest collision repairer to join the industry’s training elite.

I-CAR Australia has awarded AutoSalone in Clayton, Victoria the prestigious I-CAR Gold Class Collision status.

The training accreditation demands developed and assessed by the leading training organisation demands  ongoing commitment to excellence, professional development, and the repairing of vehicles to OEM Specifications.

AutoSalone’s director Ryan Brown says the accomplishment brought many qualities to the whole team.

“We joined the Gold Class program to invest in our staff and demonstrate to our customers that we’re committed to staying ahead through continuous training. It’s brought our already close-knit team even closer. This is more than a certification — it represents a culture of learning and excellence that we’re proud to be part of.”

AutoSalone says I-CAR’s trainers and administrative staff offered consistent support and flexible training options that allowed the team to manage learning alongside day-to-day operations.

Key industry partners, including PPG and Bosch, played integral roles in the training journey, he says.

PPG provided valuable training support, while Bosch delivered comprehensive and engaging electric vehicle (EV) training sessions that were both informative and well-received by the staff.

AutoSalone plans to incorporate ongoing training into its daily operations to uphold and maintain the highest repair standards.

Brown is also encouraging others in the industry to join the Gold Class program.

“With all the new and evolving vehicle technologies, continuous education is essential. Apprenticeships are not enough; they are just the beginning.”
