Another prestigious award for PPG’s MoonWalk

NCR PPG Moonwalk

At a recent presentation ceremony, the British Coatings Federation (BCF) honoured PPG with wins in two distinguished 2021 awards categories that are designed to highlight excellence in companies and individuals working in the coatings sector.

PPG’s revolutionary, automated paint mixing system, MoonWalk, has taken global markets by storm since its launch and it was once again in the awards limelight by earning first place in the “Sustainable Innovation” category.

As that the award is all about recognising commitment to sustainability through the launch of innovative sustainable products, processes or services, MoonWalk was the perfect candidate, according to Timothy Nevell, PPG Regional Business Solutions Manager, Automotive Refinish.

“The innovative PPG MoonWalk system saves labour, reduces waste and transforms the mixing room into a clean and safe environment, setting a new standard for the refinish market. Paint technicians and body shop managers benefit from the extreme accuracy of the automation of the mixing process, improving speed, quality and colour consistency.”

PPG was also honoured with the “Marketing Campaign of the Year” award for the Leyland Trade Smart product range by PPG, explains Ben Wilde, PPG Marketing Manager, Architectural Coatings. “The Leyland Trade Smart range by PPG is designed to address the frustrations the multi-skilled tradesperson faces. We designed a simple, jargon-free marketing campaign that shows how the paint saves them time, money and space and delivers a high-quality end result, helping to ensure repeat business.”

PPG was also a finalist in four other BCF award categories – “Corporate Social Responsibility”, “Young Leader of the Year”, ‘Coatings Care Progress” and “Diversity & Inclusion”.
