AMA Group Ltd, Australia’s largest independent motor body repair network, is leading the way and raising the bar on environmental protection.

AMA is taking its environmental commitment to the next level by partnering with Adaptation Environmental Support Pty Ltd to launch its specialty environmental management program, Torque. Adaptation is a specialist environmental agency with extensive experience in the collision repair industry, who works with clients to achieve business sustainability goals, target business change and efficiency to reduce negative environmental impacts, and enhance reputation and profitability.

Torque is a pioneering environmental management program for the collision repair industry which helps management and staff improve their environmental behaviours.  It combines a solid foundation of industry experience, risk appreciation and consideration of the ISO 14001 requirements for an effective environmental management system. It is a full support program which combines a standard assessment for participating sites, with a tailored support package to help sites be the best they can be.

“AMA Group is proud to be the launch partner for Torque. It’s an exciting opportunity for us, and we are committed to Torque because we believe it will improve our business, excite our shareholders and customers and support our people to excel at what they do best,” said Peter Bubeck, AMA Chief Commercial Officer.

“When an AMA business starts its Torque journey, everyone’s involved because environmental considerations are now a fundamental part of our everyday business.  Whether it’s adhering to ever-increasing compliance requirements, meeting our customer and employee expectations or just doing it better because it’s the right thing to do, we all have a role to play. This is where Torque helps as the program recognises the risks and opportunities in all our roles and provides a full-support package to help us continually improve,” added Bubeck.

Lara Barclay, Adaptation Managing Director stated: “We are delighted to have AMA as our inaugural launch partner for Torque. AMA Group has a long-standing commitment to sound environmental practice, so we are looking forward to the opportunity to assist all sites in achieving a high standard of environmental performance. AMA will commence putting sites through the nationally consistent Torque assessment in July 2019 and each business will be recognised for their efforts through the Torque 5-star environmental accreditation”.
