AMA Group to consolidate Melville and Welshpool sites

AMA Group will be consolidating existing operations at Gemini Melville and Gemini Welshpool Assessment Centre into a super site at Booragoon, Western Australia, which will house co-located Capital S.M.A.R.T and Gemini (Drive and Non-Drive) businesses.

The site at Booragoon is well equipped to complete both Drive and Non-Drive repairs, with significant hardstand for vehicle storage. The site has been hibernated through COVID-19, maintaining a shopfront presence without production. An assessment of the property portfolio identified an opportunity to combine these sites under one roof, returning the site to production and maintaining the Capital S.M.A.R.T shopfront operations.

The team at Melville will relocate to Booragoon, and the team at Welshpool will be redeployed to other AMA Group sites in the local area. The transition of both sites is expected to be completed by the end of June, and the consolidation is expected to deliver annual savings of over $600,000.
