The heavy repair division of the AMA Group continues to push on with new milestones, the latest being a custom developed centre in Perth that is opening up new employment opportunities.
Wales Heavy Vehicle Repairs has unveiled its rebranded and upgraded Wales Perth site, after a transformation from the Parins facility and is now actively looking for 20 new staff.
It is part of an expansion in services in the heavy repair division it hopes will lead to a 20 per cent increase in turnover.
While the wider AMA Group has undergone a raft of changes over the last year, the Wales division has repeatedly reported growth in its operations.
The rebranding of the Parins site is also part of the company’s plan to consolidate and unify AMA Group’s heavy vehicle operations under a single national banner that now reaches across key locations in NSW, QLD, VIC, and WA.
More room, more trucks
The aim of the upgrade in Perth is to deliver faster turnaround times, greater repair capacity, and a superior customer experience.
Wales Perth Site has over 10,000 sqm under roof, with a reconfigured layout designed to improve workflow, vehicle access, and throughput.
Usable workshop space has also increased by 35 per cent enabling higher repair volumes.
The facility also includes two Hi-Bake truck spray booths with integrated Wallman systems and modern double-sided preparation wall, allowing parallel job staging and reducing bottlenecks in the repair process.
Some its other features have been designed to ensure it can achieve end-to-end in-house repair capability, including laser chassis alignment, fibreglass repair, fabrication, and auto electrical services — minimising delays and ensuring consistent quality.
As part of the Wales Perth upgrade, the business is now actively seeking to fill 20 new production roles, including opportunities for apprenticeships and skilled trades in the region.
Growth through efficiency
Wales General Manager Martin Dickinson says the expanded workforce will support increased site efficiency and vehicle throughput.
“The unveiling of Wales Perth is more than a new name — it’s a bold step forward in how we deliver quality, speed, and service to our customers,” Dickinson says.
“This rebrand unifies our national presence and reinforces our commitment to keeping Australia’s heavy vehicle industry moving.”
“With the Perth launch now complete, Wales Heavy Vehicle Repairs continues to strengthen its national footprint — building a reputation as Australia’s leading provider of heavy collision repair services across four states.”
“Because at Wales, Heavy is Our Duty.”
