AkzoNobel Regional Business Manager Departs

AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes once again finds itself looking for a new leader of their Southeast Asia business with the recent departure of Stephanie Loke.

Recent discussions in Singapore revealed that Loke, Regional Business Manager, decided to leave the organisation somewhat unexpectedly to further her career elsewhere, as a direct result of ongoing internal restructuring,

Loke joined the business in 2013 as Country Manager Singapore, before taking additional responsibility for the Asia export markets and ultimately leading the region from 2015. She had made a notable contribution during a time of unprecedented change and managed significant restructuring of her leadership team.

Globally, AkzoNobel recently completed the divestment of the Speciality Chemicals business, with the objective of refocusing on their paints and coatings businesses. At a regional level, the timing of Loke’s departure is particularly unfortunate as stability within an organisation in transition is paramount.

Whilst it is unclear what impact this will have on the ANZ business, the local organisation was unavailable for comment.
